Mission and Vision

Stick2Uganda (S2U) started in 2012 as an organization that involves Dutch secondary school youth in projects in Uganda. Small-scale projects with education as a common ground. In recent years, S2U has developed into a network organization for young people. A non-hierarchical organization based on entrepreneurship and self-organization, that focuses on exchange and development. In Uganda, we work together with local families and organizations, education institutions and companies. S2U has grown into a network organization in Uganda that local organizations are happy to join.

Connecting Talents

In the Netherlands, the Christian Lyceum Veenendaal (CLV), a large secondary school, was our most important partner for 10 years. This partnership was all about organizing project trips for CLV students and S2U fundraising activities. In recent years, this has changed. The CLV took a step back as a partner, which gave S2U the opportunity to shift its focus to supporting and guiding enterprising students. Young people who want to gain knowledge and experience or complete their internship in Uganda.

The Ugandan S2U network offers all possibilities for contacts with ambitious Ugandan students and organizations . We believe that international exchange can contribute to talent development.Through the S2U network, valuable contacts can be made that young people can take with them for their future careers.

Sustainable Development Goals

As a foundation, it is important to realize that there are many themes that connect us with Uganda. We face the same global challenges and problems and we can find connection in a common approach to these. For this we base ourselves on the Social Development Goals (SDG's) which have been carefully compiled by the UN.

We visit projects that are connected to one or more of these goals, and we try to inspire our partners to work on the goals themselves.  With our program we ultimately want to encourage discussion and action on the SDG's at school, both in Uganda and the Netherlands.

Long-term partnerships

As a foundation, we attach great value to building and maintaining long-term collaborations. In Uganda, this depends on keeping agreements and building trust. We are therefore proud that we have been able to build a strong network in recent years. A Ugandan network that we can trust and build on, and a network from which Ugandan partners can expect support and collaboration.
